Paddy Lewis is the traditional custodian for the site referred to as Mina Mina. This site is associated with the creation stories for the water dreaming or Tjukurrpa in this region.Paddy is the father of Dorothy Napangardi.
Paddy started painting for the Warlukurlangu Arts Centre in the 1980’s. His traditional style for depicting the iconography associated with the Mina Mina dreaming site has provided as a close historical record of the designs used for the traditional sand mosaics during tribal ceremony.
Paddy exhibited in the Yuendumu, Paintings Out of the Desert exhibition at the South Australian Museum, 1988. Other Exhibitions: Mina Mina Exhibition, Hogarth Gallery Sydney 1999, Chapman Gallery Canberra 2002, Group exhibition: Hogarth Gallery Sydney 2004
