The town of Port Douglas itself is just an hour’s drive North of Cairns via the much traveled spectacular coastal road (listed as number 1 in the top 10 tourist drives of Australia). Be prepared to stop often to take in the breathtaking views on route.

Port Douglas is surrounded by rainforest and the Coral Sea. It is the only meeting place on earth where two world heritage listed jewels exist side by side, being the Great Barrier Reef and the rainforests of the Daintree and Cape Tribulation. Ten minutes away are the much photographed pristine waters of Mossman Gorge.
